Bring on the tunes...and ice?

Tonight on VIVA (a music channel owned by Viacom, who also owns MTV) was their annual Comet Awards show.  Unlike the Grammy's in the US, or the Echo Awards here in Germany, this award show is not based on any real talent, but more about popularity.  Thus it was pretty easy to guess who the winners would be, even though I only knew a handful of the nominated artists.  A group I like a lot is Eisblume, and though they were nominated often, they won zero awards.  To see the video and hear the song they performed live, click here.  Another artist I like, who was only nominated a couple of time, is from the region I currently live in.  She performed last night as well, though I can't find the live version on the Internet, click here to see the music video for the same she performed.  And to my surprise, Ashley Tisdale performed a song.  For those of you who don't know her, she is a Disney star like Miley Cyrus, though not as popular.  Anyway, her performance was much better than expected.  She is clearly trying to distance herself from the Disney persona she has been known for.  Here is her live performance, for those of you interested.  And now, to see the last, and a bit of a surprise, performance of the night click here.

After the music show we ended up watching the first ever Ice Soccer tournament.  It was quite funny to watch as nobody could really stand up well on the ice and then to have to kick the ball was quite hilarious to watch.  The players were all affiliated in one way or another with professional soccer, but that didn't really help them on the ice.
