Unpleasant news

I purposely neglected to write about these two things yesterday as I just didn't feel like it to be honest, but today is different. The first thing is not major, though costly. Previously I had written about our TV and how it was at the repair shop to see if we would be able to use it here. The answer is yes, we can use it, but only for watching DVDs. So, this huge 46 inch TV that cost a lot of money and that we had to pay extra to have shipped over here is not really all the usable. So, now we either need to have two TVs in the living room, our big one for DVDs and the smaller one for watching TV, or we need to purchase a whole new TV. Oh, and if you wonder why we don't just hook up our DVD player to the small TV, they aren't compatible since the DVD player came from the US.

The other news is that Carsten did not get a Green Card. We have been together for just over 7 years and for the last 3-4 years he has tried to obtain a Green Card for the US, which to keep things as simple as possible seems to work on a lottery basis. This year he went through an agency, but also was not picked to have a Green Card. It is disappointing, but it is what it is. Maybe next year will be the year?
